Author Guidelines

We invite all mathematicians, scientists and thinkers to submit papers using a mathematical approach to consciousness and “consciousness at work” in all its aspects.

Preparing and Submitting Manuscripts

Authors may submit manuscripts via e-mail to the Editorial Office:

For more information about submitting papers, contact the Editorial Office or the Executive Editor (Professor Cathy Gorini), at the following address:

Editorial Office :
Department of Mathematics
Maharishi University of Management
Fairfield, IA 52557

By submitting a manuscript, the author acknowledges that it is original and not being submitted elsewhere. The policy of the  Journal  is to require the assignment of copyright from all contributors at the time articles are accepted for publication. Manuscripts will be submitted to referees chosen by the Editors. However, decisions concerning publication of manuscripts in the International Journal of Mathematics and Consciousness rest solely with the Editors.

Manuscripts should be written in English, French, or German; and submitted as pdf files via e-mail. Authors should make sure that the manuscript is in its final form and that all necessary corrections to the submitted file(s) have been made prior to submission.

The final papers will be published using LATEX. For this reason, the Editors prefer that papers be prepared using TEX or one of its variants (LATEX, AMS-TEX, or AMS-LATEX) and then converted to a pdf file for submission.

It is understood, however, that not all authors will be familiar with TEX. In this case, once a paper has been accepted the author has two options: make their own arrangements to have the paper prepared in TEX (the Editorial Office can make suggestions) or ask the Executive Editor to have it typeset into TEX. In the latter case, the author will be responsible for the associated fees which must be paid before the article can be published.

IJMAC manuscripts should adhere to the following general style points:

Abstract: An abstract should be included on the first page. Heavy use of mathematical symbols and displayed formulas in abstracts is discouraged. Also the abstract should not contain references.

Body: The body of the manuscript should begin with an introduction stating the purpose of the article and summarizing the principal results; footnotes should be kept to a minimum (other than on the first page to acknowledge support). Abbreviations such as i.e. and etc are to be avoided.

Figures: Any figures or other illustrations should be rendered in black-and-white or grayscale only.

References: Bibliographic references should be listed alphabetically at the end of the article. For those who use a bib file, the bibliography style is \bibliographystyle{plain}. The final reference list should only contain details of actual references in the article.

There are no page charges, but authors will be charged for the cost of excessive changes requested after an article has been typeset.

Copyright Policy

The policy of the International Journal of Mathematics and Consciousness is that papers may be posted on arXiv (, Social Science Research Network (, or similar preprint servers. Such a posting is not in violation of the copyright agreement, provided that the following text is added to the posting after the paper has been published in the Journal:
